Mrs. Truax is from a small town in New Jersey called Ho-Ho-Kus (about 15 miles outside NYC). She attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia for her undergraduate degree in political science. After college, she moved back home to New Jersey, and attended William Paterson University earning her master’s degree. She returned to Virginia and has taught at Churchill Road School since 2003! Her first 8 years, she taught 4th grade and then decided to loop up with her class to 5th grade! Mrs. Truax is a National Board Certified Teacher, earning her initial certification in 2010 and recently earned her renewal status in 2019.
When Mrs. Truax is not at school, she loves spending time with her family and friends, exploring/traveling to new places, attending sporting events, trying new recipes, and sneaking in a run when she can.
