Ms. Gardner Named FCPS Region 1 Outstanding Elementary New Teacher!
Ms. Moran, Ms. Meyers, and Ms. Dierman Also Recognized at FCPS Honors
Congratulations to Gifted Education Center Teacher Megan Gardner who was recognized at the annual FCPS Honors event as the 2019 Region 1 Outstanding Elementary New Teacher and one of five finalists for this year's Outstanding Elementary New Teacher Award!
Ms. Gardner warmly greets each student daily with a smile and the promise of an engaging day. Colleagues note she, “has a unique understanding of every student, allowing her to reach them in life-changing ways”, and “skillfully provides instruction that is tailored to each child,” connecting content to their lives. They reflect that her level of instruction is more typical of a highly experienced teacher. She’s often found in the cafeteria or with her classroom “lunch bunch” strengthening her understanding of who her students are, how they learn, and what motivates them. Parents appreciate her insightful, comprehensive collaboration. Students embrace challenges because she inspires the confidence to keep trying for that “aha” moment when their eyes light up with accomplishment.
Congratulations also to the other Churchill Road Elementary School staff members recognized at FCPS Honors!
